Going through some of my father's old books today, I found a letter with two envelopes tucked into a small "Pocket Atlas" that has a date of 1841 written inside.

This envelope was not connected to the letter. It shows that it was sent from Boston on December 20, 1858 and arrived in St. Thomas in January 1859. It is addressed:

Mr. Gustav Wiksell
Care of Theodor Benzon Esqr
Christensted Apothek,
St. Croix, West Indies

My great-grandfather, Gustav Percival Wiksell was born in Boston in 1863, so this must be addressed to his father, Frank Gustav Wiksell who was born in St. Barts in 1823. We knew he worked as a pharmacist in the West Indies, but didn't know where. Now we do.

Off to do more research!
